Varnier Fanniere

Champagne Varnier-Fannière owns a total of four hectares of premium vineyards in the Avize, Oger, and Cramant regions. It is an independent Champagne house with exquisite tradition.
The Fannier family was originally a grape farmer. In the 1860s, it began to provide high-quality grapes to large Champagne houses such as Moët et Chandon, Pommery, and Roederer to make vintage champagne. The old owner, Mr. Jean Fannière, decided to make his own champagne in 1947. Owning the excellent Chardonnay grape plot in the Avize Grand Cru, Jean Fannière successfully increased the annual production to 10,000 bottles in 1959, and passed on the estate business to his daughter Josette Fannière and son-in-law Guy Varnier. The two surnames became the official name of the family champagne brand Champagne Varnier-Fannière.

The owner Denis Varnier passed away suddenly for some reason, and his widow Valerie Varnier took over the heavy winemaking work. With the assistance of oenology experts and the original team, she vigorously renovated the winery environment and replaced the base wine that had been oxidized due to neglect of management. The quality The sophisticated VF Champagne has also received high scores from international wine critics in recent years.

Slightly different from the aromatic style of Chardonnay grapes in neighboring areas, Champagne Varnier-Fannière delicately expresses the bold stone fruit and roasted aromas of Avize Chardonnay, with slight hints of chocolate, truffle and earth, and is rich in aging potential.
