Collection: AJ Vaona

Justine Mongeard, the daughter of Anne & Vincent Mongeard, and her husband Alexandre Carminati have put all their soul and experience into a new project: AJ VAONA.
This is the birth of a new winery in Vosne (Vaona is the former Gaulish name of Vosne), a project that they have been meticulously preparing for many years.
Justine is a seasoned winery manager; she has worked during many years at the family Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, and other prestigious Domaines in Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits.
Alexandre also has many years of experience, working as Vincent Mongeard’s right hand at the Domaine during 7 years and now working on his own at Maison Nicolas Potel.

The winery’s roots are even physically linked to the history of Mongeard and Vosne-Romanée: their operation is located in the former cellar of Dominique Mugneret, which is also the place where Jean Mongeard, grand-father of Justine, had vinified his first vintages!
This new winery was initially very focused on Côte de Beaune wines, to avoid competition with the family Domaine. Hence, you’ll find some beautiful terroirs in Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet in their production, as well as carefully selected appellations in red wines.
But the link of family Mongeard with Côte de Nuits was too strong, and some opportunities cannot be missed. So, they are also vinifying an impressive selection from this area, such as les Beaux Monts-in Vosne-Romanée, Les Amoureuses in Chambolle-Musigny, Clos de La Roche, Chambertin….
