Ratings and Tasting Notes:
WA=94 The 2017 Pinot Noir GG Kirschgarten is deep, pure and refined but fully ripe on the nose that is still a little reductive but beautifully precise, refreshingly mineral and also floral. It exhibits notes of crushed stones, iodine, flint stones, wild strawberries, stewed raspberries, sloes and cherries. Silky, lush, finessed and elegant on the palate, this full-bodied, refreshingly mineral, pure and tensioned Pinot is still young but adorable in its energetic and intense purity. This is still on its way and a bit robust but far better than 19 months ago when I had the first little sip of Kuhn's possibly most fascinating Pinot cru. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in March 2022.
JS=93 Very attractive, ripe black-cherry nose and a succulent, creamy palate on which the tannins are already beautifully integrated. Long, velvety finish. Organically grown grapes with Fair’n Green certification. Drink or hold.
