Ratings and Tasting Notes:
AG=93. JS=91 Impressive, ripe dark plums and blueberries on offer here. The palate has a rich, smooth-honed and quite fleshy feel with plenty of rich fruit building out the finish. Very polished tannins. A blend of 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc. Drink or hold.
WA=89-91 The 2017 Clos Badon is deep garnet-purple in color and sports a fair bit of oak to begin. The nose opens with fresh black plums, chocolate-covered cherries and mulberries with touches of mocha and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy in the mouth (mainly from the oak tannins), it delivers a lot of expressive black fruits and a long, spicy finish.
WS=90 Pure and fresh, featuring a mix of cassis, cherry and plum fruit, guided by light-handed toast, allowing floral accents to play out on the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2026.
