Ratings and Tasting Notes:
(AG=93) The 2015 Le Clos du Beau-Père has turned out just as well as I had hoped. Ripe, sensual and enveloping, the 2015 offers tons of near and medium-term appeal. Succulent red cherry, tobacco, cedar and liquorice are some of the signatures in this very pretty, racy Pomerol.
(JS=93) Deep, dark (a ton of plum aromas) and rich with a hint of mystery. This is a serious Pomerol with a long, powerful finish and tannins that are so well integrated you could drink it now.
(WA=92) The 2015 Le Clos du Beau-Pere has a fragrant bouquet with red cherries, violets and a touch of liquorice, all tightly wound but nicely defined, the new oak here neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity, smooth and velvety in the mouth with layers of ripe but not overripe black fruit. I like the tension and purity here, perhaps not quite the persistence of the top Pomerol wines but still, one of the best Le Clos de Beau-Père wines that I have tasted.
(WS=89) This pumps out a warm plum, fig and boysenberry compote notes, inlaid with fruitcake and roasted apple wood elements. A bit reliant on wood, but there's still some solid fruit here. Best from 2019 through 2027
