Ratings and Tasting Notes:
(WA=93) The 2017 Pouilly-Fuiss_ En Chatenay has turned out well, bursting with aromas of pear, green apple, nutmeg and almond paste. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, broad and powerful, with a fleshy core of fruit, chalky dry extract and a comparatively open-knit, even gourmand, profile. Based on this showing, the 2017 En Chatenay will be quite head-turning in its youth.
(AM=92) This is the first wine to display any appreciable wood influence along with sulfur-induced reduction so I would suggest decanting this as well. The medium-bodied and relatively refined flavors possess exceptionally good richness along with fine punch on the focused, saline and dry finish that exhibits the best depth and length in the range. Good stuff that should amply repay mid-term cellaring.
(WS=92) Starts out lush, laced with peach, lemon, butterscotch, mineral and toasted brioche flavors. As this develops on the palate, the vivid acidity comes into play, escorting the complex mix of flavors to a long aftertaste. Drink now through 2024. 250 cases made.
