Ratings and Tasting Notes:(AG=95) A rich, voluptuous wine, the 2017 Valandraud Blanc shows the more exotic side of Sauvignon Blanc, lemon confit, tangerine peel, passion fruit, white flowers and sage give this super-expressive white layers of dimension and real intensity. The 2017 Valandraud is distinctive and totally alluring. (JS=95) Very attractive lemon-juice, papaya and lime-leaf aromas here, as well as lemon curd, a gently savory lemon-pastry edge and some grassy elements. The palate has a succulent feel with intense, focused lemon and yellow-grapefruit flavors, balanced on a spine of long, fresh acidity. Smoothly resolved. Drink or hold. (RP=92-94) The Valandraud 2017 Blanc is just a little closed to begin, giving way to fresh lemons, white grapefruit and white peaches aromas with hints of chalk and struck flint. The palate is super intense with racy acid, medium-bodied and incredibly minerally with fantastic length.
