Ratings and Tasting Notes:
AG90-93 (mostly from what Francois Jouard described as "my best vines," planted in the 1930s): Bright pale yellow. Pear, herbs and white pepper on the nose and palate, plus a piquant suggestion of curry powder. Rich, dense and firmly structured, conveying a strong impression of energy for Morgeot. The sturdy, long finish shows a light touch.
RP89 The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot les Fairendes has the most austere bouquet from Francois Jouard this year, indicating that it will benefit from a year or two in bottle. The palate is well balanced with citrus peel, a dash of lemongrass and orange rind, moderate weight in the mouth and perhaps just a little conservative toward the finish. Still, it is focused and displays good length. Drink this over the next 5 or 6 years.
