Ratings and Tasting Notes:
RP=91 A blockbuster, super-duper Fronsac, the 2011 Haut-Carles reveals an inky/purple color along with exceptional blueberry, blackberry, acacia flower, licorice, and camphor notes. Concentrated, full-bodied and rich, it is one of the superstars of the vintage in Fronsac. From proprietors Constance and Stephane Droulers, this beauty merits serious consumer interest. It will benefit from 1-2 years of bottle age and drink well for 10-15+ years. It is a sleeper of the vintage. Bravo!
WS=91 Offers a roasted feel, with a ganache edge running alongside the core of crushed plum, fig paste, and warm blackberry coulis flavors. The finish shows good grip. Best from 2015 through 2021.
JS=88-89 Attractive fruit that is sweet and ripe with a delicious spiciness. Full and velvety with bright acidity and a long finish. Juicy.
