Ratings and Tasting Notes:
AG89 (13.4% natural alcohol, according to Forey): Good bright, dark red. Pure, aromatic nose combines blackberry, raspberry, menthol and licorice. Supple, lush, sweet and approachable, offering flavors of griotte cherry and spices. A bit less round than the Morey but shows well-judged extraction. Finishes with dusty tannins and very good length.
RP88 The 2010 Nuits St. Georges is a bit rounder and fleshier than the Morey. Layers of dark red berries, menthol and spices wrap around the soft, caressing finish. This is an especially juicy, up-front 2010 best suited for drinking over the next handful of years. These vineyards are in Premeaux-Prissey. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.
AM88 This is also exceptionally pretty for the appellation with an earthy mix of wild red berries, violets and a plum suffused nose. There is good richness to the relatively concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess an unusually silky mid-palate before terminating in a punchy and solidly long finish. Good quality here in a package that should reward mid-term cellaring.
