(WA=92) The intensely white/golden-colored dry 2014 Riesling Alte Reben Saar (White Capsule) is entirely from the Saarburger Rausch and includes 50% of highly concentrated two stars Auslese wines, which Markus Molitor finally renounced, due to too small quantities. The wine is still very closed, but intense and concentrated on the nose, displaying herbal and ethereal aromas. Full-bodied, powerful and very tight on the palate, this is a rich and concentrated Riesling with a seriously firm tannin structure. ""The pip were black in 2014,"" says Molitor, who crushed the grapes before he pressed them two times for at least six hours. This Riesling shows a piquant Saar acidity and an impressively complex and persistent finish. This wine needs several years to show its true greatness.
