Ratings and Tasting Notes:
JS=91 Fruity nose of grapefruit, kiwi, spiced pear and dried pineapple. Some aniseed, too. Medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and a textured, flavorful palate with salty and spicy undertones. Sauvignon blanc. Drink now.
WA=89-91+ The Cruzeau 2019 Blanc sashays out of the glass with pretty notes of lemon blossom, fresh grapefruit and white peach plus nuances of fennel seed and paraffin wax. The medium-bodied palate has beautiful poise with delicately refreshing acidity lifting the apple and citrus layers on the well-sustained finish.
AG=86-88 The 2019 de Cruzeau Blanc is attractive, even if it is just a touch light in body. Lime, mint and floral overtones give the wine a terrific aromatic presence. I just wish there was a bit more fruit beneath it all. WS=88 Juicy and fresh, with nice white peach, verbena and gooseberry gelée notes. Shows good energy and is ready to drink. Drink now through 2023.
