Ratings and Tasting Notes:
(RP=89) The 2018 M?con-Milly-Lamartine offers up a pretty bouquet of peaches, white flowers and nougat, followed by a medium to full-bodied, elegantly fleshy palate that's underpinned by a racy, even bracing, spine of acidity. While its generous fruit tones are faithful to the vintage, its tangy profile certainly defies any stereotypes of heaviness.
(AM=87-89) This was being prepared for bottling at the time of my visit and not surprisingly, the nose was dominated by sulfur. Otherwise the intense and highly energetic flavors possess excellent delineation, indeed they're chiseled, before culminating in a bone dry grapefruit-inflected finish. This was hard to read but should come in around my projected range.
(AG=88) The 2018 M?con-Milly-Lamartine has a crisp bouquet of grass clippings and green apple fruit. The palate is well balanced with a fresh opening, a little oiliness coming through, and a lightly spiced finish. Enjoy this over the next 4-6 years.
