Ratings and Tasting Notes:
(RP=91) Offering up aromas of sweet berry fruit, petals and spices, framed by a deft application of toasty oak, the 2018 Savigny-l?s-Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with a generous, broad-shouldered profile that's typical of the vintage but which avoids excess. (AM=87-89) Here too there is a whiff of herbal tea to the decidedly ripe yet still reasonably fresh aromas of black cherry, raspberry and humus-tinged earth. The sleeker and finer though not denser medium-bodied flavors also possess a beguiling texture before terminating in a more complex if slightly warm finish. This is very ripe and a wine that should be approachable on the younger side.
