Ratings and Tasting Notes:
AG=93; WA=92 With slightly more pronounced tannins than most vintages, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape should be set aside for a year or two and then consumed over the following decade. It offers fresh, vibrant blackberry and blueberry flavors, a full-bodied, velvety-textured palate and a long, tannic finish tinged with orange zest.
WS=92 A silky and perfumy style, with alluring raspberry and cherry coulis flavors, lined with subtle shiso leaf, incense and lavender notes. Graceful finish. Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2030.
JS=90 Some riper fruit here, with figs and raisins, as well as red plums. Dense, pastry-like feel to the ripe and juicy palate. Drink over the next five years.
