Ratings and Tasting Notes:(AG=93) The 2017 Virginie de Valandraud is dark and rich in the glass, with a striking interplay of dense fruit and more floral, bright notes from the Cabernets in the blend. The 2017 is a gorgeous, super-expressive wine with a ton of potential. Moreover, the Virginie is a wine of real character. (JS=92) This has very fresh aromas of blueberries and violets with notes of cedary oak and freshly tilled earth. The palate has a rich and ripe feel with ample tannin, good depth and polish. Super fine and plush. A blend of 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. Second wine of Ch?teau Valandraud. Drink or hold. (RP=90-92) The 2017 Virginie de Valandraud is deep garnet-purple in color and offers up aromas of crushed blackberries, warm black cherries and violets with scents of cedar chest and cinnamon stick. Medium to full-bodied with ripe, plush tannins and great freshness, it delivers a lovely core of pure black fruit and a floral finish.
