WA=91-93 The 2016 Morey Saint Denis Trilogie comes from three parcels that conjoin premier crus and was cropped at 25 hectoliters per hectare from Chenevery, Clos Solon and Les Porroux. Blended with one-third whole bunch fruit, it offers intense blackberry, briary and light tobacco scents that blossom in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, pure and sorbet-fresh black fruit, a gentle grip in the mouth with superb tension on the crystalline finish. Superb, an outstanding Morey-Saint-Denis for its class. AG=89-91; AM=88-91 A much more floral-infused nose offers up a variety of agreeably fresh aromas of both red and dark currant cut with an abundance of earth and underbrush wisps. The moderately robust and solidly powerful medium weight flavors deliver fine length on the rustic finale that is shaped by an evident and firm tannic spine. This won't win any awards for refinement but I like the forthright character. Some patience required.
