AG=93. JS=93 Beautiful, attractive, spicy oak layered across ripe plums and mulberries, leading to a very plush and smooth array of ripe, velvety tannins. Great Pomerol. So silky. Try from 2022.

WS=91 This delivers a big up-front display of raspberry, boysenberry and açaí berry pâte de fruit notes, with anise and fruitcake flavors filling in on the finish. Offers enough spine to carry it off, though this is likely to mature on the earlier side. Best from 2021 through 2031.

WA=89 Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Le Clos du Beau-Pere is scented of kirsch, redcurrant jelly, blackberry compote and cigars with menthol, sautéed herbs and earth. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy with a good core of fruit and an earthy finish.
