Ratings and Tasting Notes:
(JS=92) This is ripe and very open with chewy and juicy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Full body. Savoury. Drink after 2023.
(AG=91) The 2016 Clos Badon-Thunevin has a ripe, quite decadent bouquet at first, although it gains more delineation in the glass, offering copious black cherry and wild strawberry scents infused with violet. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity, and quite harmonious toward the finish. A touch of tobacco lingers on the aftertaste. Recommended.
(WS=91) Rich in feel, offering warm, velvety layers of crushed plum and steeped black currant fruit flavours laced with anise, ganache and loam notes. The back end shifts to smouldering tobacco and bay leaf accents while the rich fruit detail rumbles through. Best from 2022 through 2032.
(WA=89) Medium to deep garnet-purple coloured, the 2016 Clos Badon Thunevin features chocolate-covered cherries, kirsch and black raspberries scents with hints of cinnamon toast and rosehip tea. Medium to full-bodied, it is packed with black fruits and red fruit accents, framed by firm, chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing earthy.
