Ratings and Tasting Notes:
AM=93 A moderately oaked nose reflects notes of spicy purple fruit, Asian-style tea and plenty of floral characters. There is excellent richness to the relatively broad-shouldered and solidly concentrated flavours that are blessed with an abundance of dry extract that imparts a velvety and suave mouth feel that contrasts markedly with the powerful, rustic and very firm finish that delivers outstanding length. This old school effort is going to require plenty of patience.
AG=91+ Bright medium red. Strawberry, raspberry and a whiff of caramel on the nose. Then much more reserved in the middle palate than the Gaudichots and shows less sweetness of fruit than that wine. In a closed stage, if not a bit awkward today. Finishes rather powerful, with substantial dusty tannins in need of patience. Forey likes this wine more than I do.
