Ratings and Tasting Notes:

(AG=92+) Pale, bright yellow. Complex nose combines ripe peach, orange oil, crushed stone and white truffle. Ripe, suave and harmonious, with intense flavors of orange blossom, peach and hazelnut enlivened by minerality. Finishes vibrant but quite backward, with a hint of youthful bitterness and lingering mineral and marzipan qualities. This needs four or five years to harmonize in the bottle. (Incidentally, Gaunoux also opened a bottle of his 2007 Perrieres. This intriguing wine, which I originally rated 91, seemed caught between two stages, maintaining penetrating acidity and good energy and grip but also showing evolving notes of coffee, mocha and white truffle. I would drink it now or over the next year or two as it shows a lovely sugar/acid balance today and there may be more to lose than to gain by waiting.)
